Crafting turns scavenged materials into bus parts, storage, defenses and route tools. The official badge record confirms that workbench crafting is a tracked system: Crafter I requires 25 items, Crafter II requires 150, and Elite Crafter requires 500. The badge text does not publish the recipe list, ingredient amounts, unlock prices or which benches accept each craft, so the live workbench remains the final authority.

Use a two-gate crafting check

Every craft has two separate gates. First, the recipe must be visible and unlocked for the account or current state. Second, the required materials and prerequisite parts must be present. Having Wood and Scrap does not unlock a lobby-gated recipe. Buying an unlock does not create the materials inside a run.

Read both panels before reserving cargo. Current community captures report available recipes alongside entries that require a lobby unlock, and at least one paid offer. Mark the unlock method exactly as displayed rather than assuming all recipes use Tickets, levels or Robux.

Currently documented recipe groups

Wheels

Purpose: keep the bus mobile and replace damage.

Dependency: upgraded variants may consume a completed Basic Wheel.

Priority: high when no spare is available.

Check recipes

Walls and openings

Purpose: shape bus protection and access.

Documented forms: full walls, half-walls, doors and windows in current community menu captures.

Check: material type, attachment area and visibility tradeoff.

Storage and work surfaces

Purpose: organize protected supplies and support future crafting.

Check: placement space, access and whether the item is already unlocked.

Utility

Examples reported: lighting, access-card and generator-related tools.

Check: current objective and recipe wording before saving rare materials.

Defense

Example reported: Auto Turret.

Check: separate unlock or offer, materials, ammunition or operating limits, and attachment behavior.

This is a “currently documented” index, not a guaranteed complete catalog. Community sources disagree on recipe counts because they may show different unlock states or Beta versions. Use the Recipes guide for a verification format instead of treating one screenshot as the permanent menu.

Craft for the next failure

Choose the craft that prevents the run’s most likely ending. If the bus has no spare wheel, make mobility the priority. If inventory chaos causes objective items to be sold, storage can be more valuable. If the team already has mobility and supplies, walls or defenses can improve the checkpoint plan.

Do not craft only because materials happen to be present. Wood or Scrap used on optional structure cannot also repair the bus or complete another selected recipe. Name the problem, check the full dependency chain, reserve the materials, and then craft.

Plan prerequisite parts

Some upgraded components can consume a completed lower-tier part. Count the base part’s materials and crafting step as part of the final plan. A list that shows only the last row can understate the real cost.

Use the Materials guide to total shared ingredients across selected crafts. Protect a finished spare in accessible storage rather than burying it behind sale cargo or attaching every part immediately.

Place the result safely

Use Z when the current placement preview shows a valid surface or attachment. Clear overlapping loot, keep driver and door access open, and confirm the part remains attached after you move. A crafted object on the floor is not the same as an installed component.

For walls and large utility objects, consider visibility and movement. A bus that cannot be navigated or defended from inside has traded one risk for another. Test one placement before mass-producing pieces.

Track badge progress separately

The three official Crafter badges count workbench items crafted, with thresholds of 25, 150 and 500. They do not say “distinct recipes,” prove that every bench counts, or explain whether progress is cross-session. Check the badge counter after a known workbench craft and record the result.

Do not waste survival materials solely to accelerate a badge when fuel, ammunition or repairs are low. A steady route can accumulate crafts over multiple runs if the live counter persists.

Protect the cure plan from recipe rumors

The official Cure Fred badge names a Cure Potion, but its description does not provide ingredients, unlock method or a workbench. Do not insert an unsupported potion recipe into the crafting index. If the live game shows a recipe, capture its exact interface, bench, requirements and date before relying on it.

Until then, treat the potion as an objective item whose source needs current in-game verification. The Endings guide covers how to protect the branch without inventing a recipe.

Squad workflow

Assign one material manager and one bus inspector. The material manager reads the selected recipe and reserves only its inputs. The inspector confirms what the vehicle actually lacks. After crafting, another player can protect the sale pile so materials are not converted twice.

Before leaving the bench, verify unlock state, materials consumed, item received, attachment or storage location, and remaining repair reserve. This makes the next terminal faster and prevents duplicate crafts.

Evidence boundary

Workbench crafting and the three milestone thresholds are Official. Specific recipe names, ingredient amounts and unlock states are Community reported from current menu captures and require live confirmation. Recipe completeness, Cure Potion crafting and paid-offer behavior remain Needs in-game testing. Checked September 18, 2026.

Leave the bench ready to travel

Place the crafted part in its intended slot before starting another recipe. Test a wheel or attachment with Z, store ammunition beside its matching weapon, and keep remaining Wood and Scrap visible to the material manager. Finish with a fuel and mobility check. This prevents a successful crafting stop from becoming a failed departure caused by buried parts or an empty reserve.
