Loot is useful only when it advances the next leg. Last Stop’s official description makes scavenging and selling part of the core loop, but the same pickup can be fuel, combat supply, crafting material, bus part, objective item, or sale cargo. Inspect first, decide by function, then compare the live terminal value. Beta prices and drop locations can change without making the underlying decision rule obsolete.
Loot decision index
Fuel
Default: reserve enough for the next road segment.
Examples: Gas Can and other items the current burner accepts.
Risk: a sale can strand the bus.
Verify: live fuel gain and current item label.
Weapons
Default: keep one usable option and a purpose for every backup.
Risk: carrying unsupplied guns wastes space.
Verify: damage display, handling, source and matching ammo.
Choose weaponsAmmunition
Default: keep rounds that match the equipped or planned gun.
Risk: wrong ammo is dead weight.
Verify: exact live labels and reload result.
Match ammunitionMaterials
Default: reserve only for a selected visible recipe or repair.
Risk: hoarding every material blocks valuable pickups.
Verify: workbench requirement and unlock state.
Plan materialsBus parts
Default: keep the replacement that prevents a mobility failure.
Risk: parts may be carried instead of attached.
Verify: placement prompt, condition and compatibility.
Plan upgradesObjective items
Default: never sell until the relevant task or ending is resolved.
Examples: the badge-named Cure Potion and NPC-event cargo.
Verify: current item description and objective text.
Sale valuables
Default: sell true surplus after essentials are protected.
Risk: copied prices may be stale.
Verify: value shown by the current terminal.
Read value safelyInspect before moving the item
Use Y on keyboard to inspect unfamiliar loot. Record name, category, visible rarity, described use, compatible ammunition or recipe, and current sale value. Do not infer function from shape or color. An object that looks like scrap can be a recipe dependency, and a valuable-looking object can be a quest item.
Keep unknown items in a separate area until one player identifies them. Mixing unknowns with the sale pile is the fastest way to lose a rare requirement. Once the function is known, move the item to use now, reserve, craft, attach, objective, or sell.
Keep the next objective supplied
Before a terminal, name the next shortage: fuel, wheel, ammunition, healing, food, workbench material, or boss preparation. Protect items that answer it. The What to Sell guide asks whether an item can kill, repair, fuel, craft the selected plan, or complete an objective before treating it as cash.
This does not mean hoard everything useful in theory. Keep a reasonable reserve for the plan you selected. Sell duplicates and obsolete equipment when they no longer have a current role. Inventory space is itself a resource.
Read current values, not remembered values
The official game does not publish a stable external price database. Community sources report values, but Beta changes and rarity variants can invalidate a number. Read the amount displayed at the terminal and attach a check date to any recorded value.
The official badges confirm cumulative sale goals of $25,000 and $125,000. They do not establish the price of an individual item or prove that a high award count is a drop rate. The vault’s 250 Ticket value goal is a separate counter.
Organize the bus and inventory
Create visible groups: fuel and mobility, active weapons and matching ammo, food and healing, planned materials, objective items, and sale cargo. Keep items off attachment points and driver access. Place protected objects away from the terminal flow so another player does not mistake them for surplus.
In a squad, nominate one sale lead and one supply lead. The sale lead reads live values; the supply lead checks what the bus and selected recipe still need. This prevents two players from selling and rebuying the same resource.
Handle rarity carefully
Rarity can be a fast sorting signal, but it is not the decision by itself. A lower-rarity wheel, fuel item or matching ammunition can be more important than a higher-rarity collectible when the bus is about to stop. A high-rarity object can become sale cargo after its functional role is covered.
Record rarity exactly as shown and leave it unset when the item screen does not provide one. Do not create a color-to-rarity legend from another Roblox game.
Recover from a bad sale
If a required item was sold, check whether the terminal still offers a buyback or replacement path. If not, identify the nearest known source and decide whether the detour costs more than continuing with another plan. Tell the team immediately; hiding the loss can waste more fuel and ammunition.
If the Cure Potion or another unique objective item is lost, follow the live objective and do not invent a replacement recipe. The run may need a different ending or a new attempt.
Evidence boundary
Looting and selling are Official parts of the game loop. The keep/sell framework is Community corroborated. Exact names, rarities, values, damage, ammunition, drops and refresh rules need in-game verification with a check date. Reviewed September 18, 2026.
Quick terminal decision
Before confirming a sale, ask three questions in order: does the bus need this object to move, does the current loadout or chosen recipe consume it, and does an active objective name it? Keep the item if any answer is yes. If all three are no, compare its live terminal value with the space it occupies and the cost of carrying it farther. This short check protects the run without requiring a perfect value sheet.
