The official Last Stop [Beta] description publishes seven PC inputs: Click grabs or shoots, Z places a build or attaches an item, E equips or uses, Q drops, R reloads, Tab opens inventory, and Y inspects. The hard part is not remembering the letters; it is recognizing the current item state so the correct action is available.

Understand held, equipped, stored and attached
A held item is in your hands and can often be dropped, inspected, used, or positioned. An equipped weapon is ready for its combat action. A stored item occupies inventory or bus storage but is not active. An attached bus part has completed the placement action and should remain on the valid point when you move away.
Most control confusion comes from applying the right key to the wrong state. Pressing Z on an item that is still stored cannot attach it. Pressing E on a bus part may equip or use nothing because the required action is placement. Clicking with a gun can shoot, while clicking with an object can perform the grab action described by the official page.
Place or attach with Z
Hold the intended build or part, stand near the correct bus surface or attachment point, and look for a valid placement preview. Move loose items out of the area if they overlap. Rotate or reposition only through controls the live interface exposes; do not assume a common Roblox rotation key if it is not shown.
If Z fails, step away and approach from a clearer angle. Inspect the item to confirm that it is placeable and check whether another prerequisite is missing. A wheel, wall, workbench, storage piece, and decorative object may follow different placement rules. The Bus Build guide covers planning and collision checks.
Equip or use with E
Use E after the item description and prompt agree with the intended action. Food, healing, a quest interaction, and equipping a weapon can all share the same broad “use” input while producing different results. Do not tap E on an unidentified object merely to learn what it does; inspect with Y first when possible.
When E has no effect, check whether the item is already equipped, needs a target, is empty, or belongs to another system. A gun without ammunition may still equip but cannot complete a useful shot. A bus component may need Z. A sellable object may have no personal-use action at all.
Reload with matching ammunition
R reloads a gun, but the command cannot solve an ammunition mismatch. Inspect the weapon and ammunition, compare their visible labels, and keep them together in the inventory plan. Reload before a checkpoint rather than after the first enemy reaches the bus. Do not use an old community table as proof of compatibility if the current item labels disagree.
If reload fails, confirm the weapon is equipped, the magazine is not already full, the matching ammunition is carried, and another animation is not blocking the action. Drop and reacquire only when safe; first changing weapons or checking inventory usually preserves more information.
Inspect with Y before selling
Y is the control that prevents expensive mistakes. Inspect unknown loot to determine whether it is fuel, ammunition, a weapon, food, healing, a crafting material, a bus part, or an objective item. Then decide whether to use, reserve, craft, attach, or sell it.
Inspection is especially important at a terminal. An item with a visible cash value can still be required for the bus, a selected recipe, the Hospital, an NPC event, or the Fred ending. The What to Sell guide uses function first and value second.
Touch and controller players
The public game description used for this guide lists keyboard and mouse actions. It does not establish a complete touch or controller mapping. On those devices, follow the action prompts displayed by the current client and use the action names in this guide to identify the equivalent control.
Do not map a guessed button from another Roblox survival game. If a touch button or controller prompt is missing, reconnect the device, reopen the inventory or interaction, and check Roblox input settings. Record the device, platform, server date, and exact missing action when reporting a problem.
Quick troubleshooting order
- Confirm you are in Last Stop [Beta] by The Hidden Route.
- Inspect the item and identify its intended system.
- Check whether it is stored, held, equipped, placed, or attached.
- Look for the live prompt or placement preview.
- Try the official action once from a clear position.
- Rejoin one current server if the interface appears stale.
- Report the exact item and action instead of saying every control is broken.
Evidence level: Official for the seven PC inputs, checked September 18, 2026. Touch layouts, controller bindings, placement rotation, and item-specific prompts still need in-game testing.
