The best Last Stop weapon is one you can keep supplied and use safely for the next objective. The official description confirms powerful weapons as part of the road loop, but it does not publish a complete weapon catalog, damage table, rarity list, or acquisition map. Current walkthroughs repeatedly use melee tools for ordinary enemies and preserve ranged ammunition for checkpoints and bosses; treat that as a practical plan, not a universal tier list.
Give every weapon a job
Assign a melee option to ordinary enemies when approaching is safe, a firearm to dangerous range or burst needs, and a backup only when it covers a different situation. A third weapon with no matching ammunition usually offers less value than fuel, healing, a spare wheel, or ammo for the active gun.
Write the trigger in one sentence: “Use this gun when the checkpoint target cannot be approached safely,” or “Use this melee weapon to preserve final-fight ammo.” If the trigger never appears, the weapon is sale cargo or a lower priority.
Compare with repeatable fields
Record displayed name, type, rarity, source, compatible ammunition, visible damage if the game shows it, fire or swing behavior, reload or recovery, and check date. Test against the same enemy and conditions. One critical hit or edited video does not establish average performance.
For firearms, include magazine state and ammo consumed. For melee, include reach, commitment and whether the player can disengage. For both, note whether the weapon is practical on the moving bus, inside a building, and during a group checkpoint.
Preserve ammunition for the route
Before taking a firearm, find or buy the matching rounds and confirm R reloads it. Do not assume similar boxes are interchangeable. Carrying a rare gun that cannot be reloaded creates false confidence and uses inventory space.
Community walkthroughs often preserve a Revolver and matching medium ammunition for the Fred sequence while using an Iron Sword for normal pressure. This is a Community reported route example, not a promise that those items or balance remain identical in every server. Inspect your current weapon and ammo labels.
Choose by campaign stage
Early in the run, reliability and supply matter more than peak damage. At terminals, spend only when the weapon solves an upcoming problem and its ammunition fits the budget. Before a checkpoint, prefer the option you have already reloaded and tested.
Late in the run, stop replacing a functioning loadout for small gains. Protect the ammunition and healing needed for the selected Fred outcome. An optional boss weapon is not helpful if the detour empties the bus or leaves the final gun dry.
Use terrain without assuming safety
Community guides demonstrate fighting from fences, vehicles and raised positions. These can create distance, but pathing, hitboxes and enemy attacks can change. Keep an exit and watch for enemies that reach or bypass the position. Do not label a location “safe” from one successful clip.
On the bus, avoid firing through teammates or loose cargo when the live game blocks shots. When driving, use a weapon only if the role and controls permit safe use; a driver who stops steering can create a larger threat than the enemy being shot.
Build a squad loadout
Spread ammunition types only when the team can supply them. One player can handle ordinary melee pressure, another carries the dependable ranged option, and a support player protects healing or repair. Share spare ammunition before buying a duplicate unsupplied gun.
Call out who owns the final-fight reserve. If everyone assumes another player saved the ammo, the group can arrive at Fred with empty weapons. If a player leaves, recover important supplies when the game allows it.
Avoid unsupported rankings
Do not rank a weapon by rarity color, price, or one damage number alone. Availability, ammo supply, handling, reload time, range, inventory cost and encounter fit matter. A lower-damage weapon can be the better choice if it fits more openings and stays supplied.
The Ammo guide covers compatibility, while Loot Values explains why a current sale price should not replace combat purpose. Boss-specific recommendations belong on the named encounter page with date and conditions.
Troubleshoot a weapon that underperforms
- Inspect the item and verify it is equipped, not merely held or stored.
- Match the ammunition label and reload before testing.
- Compare range and target position, not just the crosshair.
- Check whether another animation or empty magazine blocked the shot.
- Record rarity, condition or variant if the game exposes one.
- Test on the same enemy before blaming a balance change.
Evidence level: weapon presence is Official. Specific item recommendations and route examples are Community corroborated/reported. Complete stats, drops, rarity effects and best-in-slot claims need in-game testing, checked September 18, 2026.
